What to look for

Contact tips are the fastest-wearing part: match the bore to your wire diameter exactly (a 0.8mm tip for 0.8mm wire) and change it as soon as the arc wanders or the wire starts to stub. Match the shroud, diffuser and liner to your specific torch model — they're not universal — and replace the liner when feeding gets erratic, as a worn liner is the usual hidden cause of a jittery arc.
