Match the disc's hole pattern and fixing (hook-and-loop or PSA) to your sander, and choose the grit for the stage — coarse to remove, medium to refine, fine to finish. Aluminium-oxide suits general work; use the finer grits and a light touch on stainless and alloy to avoid heat discolouration.
