What to look for

Choose the rivet diameter and, crucially, the grip range to match your combined material thickness — too short won't clamp, too long won't set properly. Pick the body material for corrosion compatibility (aluminium, steel or stainless), drill the correct clearance hole, and use a rivet gun sized to the diameter.
