What to look for

Size the cable and clamps to your machine's maximum amperage — undersized leads drop voltage, run hot and waste power. Fit a solid earth clamp with a clean, tight contact to the workpiece (a poor earth is the most common cause of an unstable arc), and match cable connectors (Dinse plugs) to your machine's sockets.
